 Local 6174 represents Embarq employees in central
(Killeen), north Texas (Decatur), and south texas (Humble/ Kingwood). Our local
was chartered in 1950. We have represented
workers through five corporations, the current one being Embarq.
We pride ourselves in our commitment to fight for fair and decent wages and
working conditions. We are and have been the backbone of every company and
only ask for the part we have earned. Our strength lies in each of us
standing together. The history of labor unions shows hard won battles, won
in solidarity and caring more about others than self.
